December is here, and Christmas is right around the corner too! It seems that the past few months have just flown by and now it's time to get ready for the holidays.
I love Christmas - my gift shopping is almost done, wrapping has begun, and now I am winding down and focusing on enjoying quality time with loved ones and relaxing as I await the big day!
But sometimes in the midst of the busyness, it can be hard to think of and plan activities to do.
If you're also trying to soak up everything this time of year has to offer and enjoy activities with your loved ones, I've compiled a list of ideas to encourage you to soak up that holiday cheer.
Read the story of Christmas (the reason for the season!) in the Bible
Deck the halls
Decorate a gingerbread house
Bake cookies & share with your loved ones
Have a present wrapping party
Play a Christmas game (there are tons of fun printables online if you don't have a game)
Sing Christmas carols or karaoke
Go for a drive & see the Christmas lights
Go ice skating
Have a Christmas movie night/day
Sit by the fire with a loved one & just chat
Look at photographs of past Christmases
Make a music video to your favorite Christmas song
Go see a holiday play, concert, or movie showing
Write a Christmas song of your own
Journal about Christmas (how it makes you feel, things you enjoy, memories, etc.)
Do a Christmas DIY (ex: Christmas sign) & display it in your home
Walk through a park to see the Christmas lights
Make a DIY Sharpie mug with your favorite Christmas quote/lyrics
Make or fill out Christmas cards for your loved ones
Plan some random acts of kindness to spread love during the holidays
Visit a nursing home & spread Christmas cheer
Put on your favorite Christmas sweater
Send someone a nice message of how thankful you are to have them
Take a step back & reflect, among the busyness, on what you are thankful for, who you get to celebrate the season with, etc.
Whichever activities you choose to enjoy this Christmas season, I hope you have a wonderful time creating memories full of love, laughter, & joy.
Merry Christmas!
